Kathy Marks Owner of Sunset Janitorial

Hi, I’m Kathy Marks, President of Sunset Janitorial

Let me tell you a little about myself. I am originally from Renton, WA. I enjoy crocheting, writing poetry, and reading about History and Science.

In 1974, my little family & I moved to Port Angeles to become permanent residents of the beautiful Olympic Peninsula. In 1976 a baby girl was added to our hungry family. Out of work and low on funds, we took upon ourselves to go from door to door asking if anyone needed their windows cleaned. We gradually grew a client base which then led to cleaning some office buildings and the old Tradewell on 1st Street as well as a little later the Payless Store where the Plaza Rite Aid now exists. By 1984 we had a new addition to the family and a solid business to take care of. The Port Angeles 1st Federal’s were added in 1989 and Sunset Janitorial just blossomed from there. The business was split in 1994 and I incorporated my half of the business, commercial office cleaning. I have always felt that Quality is better than Quantity, so from small beginning and hard work, Sunset Janitorial Inc. has become a business I am proud to operate throughout the Peninsula. We are now serving 36 businesses.

My 3 girls are gone now. But looking back having a family business has taught them the value of honesty, diligence, and pride in a job well done.

Thank you all for letting us continue to be a service you can count on.
